Module 2: How Are We Organized?
This module covers the basics of anatomy, how the body is organized into regions, a description of the organ systems and a general overview of body tissues.
Topics: Homeostasis (Body Systems), Anatomical and Directional Terminology, Tissue Types and Identification
Topics: Homeostasis (Body Systems), Anatomical and Directional Terminology, Tissue Types and Identification
Goals
During this module, students will:
- Describe various levels of structural organization within the human body, and explain how they are related
- Use proper anatomical terminology to describe directional terms, body regions, planes of reference and body cavities
- Compare and contrast the structural and functional characteristics of epithelial tissue, connective tissue, nervous tissue, and muscle tissue
Outcomes
After completing this module, students will be able to:
- Describe and explain the relationships between the various levels of structural organization
- Use proper anatomical terminology to describe directional terms, body regions, planes of reference and body cavities
- Compare and contrast the structural and functional characteristics to identify epithelial tissue,
