2.2 Planes that Divide the Body
Sagittal Plane: The sagittal plane divides the body into a right and left part. If this is done on the
mid-line of the body, it is known as the mid-sagittal plane.

Transverse Plane: This plane divides the body into a superior (top) and inferior (bottom) half.
